The People's Orchestra of Austin is a community folk orchestra. Our motto is "Music for the People by the People." We accept all instruments and players of all ages and abilities. There are no tryouts or auditions. We play a variety of musical styles and many original compositions as well as traditional pieces from around the world. We meet on Monday evenings at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin at 6:30-8 pm. No one is turned away for inability to pay and rental instruments are available.

Our Fall Session Begins September 23th, 2019

The orchestra plays two concerts a year.(Our Coexistmas Concert will be December 17, 2019) Private lessons are also available. More on how to join here. Our founder and director is composer/songwriter Kiya Heartwood

Hi Comrades! Our Summer session goes for 4 weeks starting June 3rd at 6:30 pm-8 pm First UU Church of Austin.

All Levels, All Instruments Welcome.

Summer is just $25 for a membership.

No one turned away for inability to pay.

Show Week POA Dress Rehearsals and 1st Wkend 

Hi Maties,

We will practice with the cast at 6:30 in the Sanctuary on Monday and Thursday Night. Friday and Sat our call is 7 pm. Sunday at 2 pm. Please dress as pirate as you like with your orchestra shirt on performance days. Tickets are available at www.paradoxplayers.org.
